Organic Gardening Resources

At the Golden Hill Community Garden we believe firmly in the benefits of organic gardening practices to ensure good stewardship of ourselves and the earth.  Organic gardening practices can be even more productive than conventional methods when proper techniques are employed.  This page provides information on things like organic pest controls, soil nutrition, companion planting, and more.

Organic Gardening Basics

Organic gardening involves utilizing practices that mimick those found in natural processes.  They reject synthetic chemical fertilizers and insectisides in favor of natural practices that build healthy soil instead of depleating it.

The video to the right is a great place to start for an introduction or refresher on organic gardening principles.
